History
On December 2, 1848, a small group met at Cross Roads School House and formed Cross Roads Church.
In November 1857, St. Paul's (Newtown Congregation) and Cross Roads Church formed a parish with Rev. William Rusmiselle as Pastor. He served for 27 years.
In 1858, the first house of worship was erected and named Lebanon by the Pastor's wife (for "Cedars of Lebanon"). This building contained a gallery in the rear of the sanctuary. The vestibule, belfry, and the chancel were added later.
During the War Between the States the church was used as a hospital for Wounded Union soldiers, who burned papers and church books.
Parish alignments have been: 1909 - Shenandoah Parish with Mt. Zion and St. Luke; 1969 - Lebanon / St. Stephen Parish; 1989 - Lebanon / St. Paul parish.
Records show steady growth; and on October 11, 1998 Lebanon celebrated 150 years of Christian life and service.
